R Steenson & Son is a fourth generation funeral directors that has proudly served the families of Northern Ireland for over 100 years. The business was founded in 1908 by Robert Steenson, who prior to this had been managing another local undertakers for around 25 years.

The independent firm has remained in the family ever since and is today owned and managed by Robert’s great-grandson, Bryan. The spacious premises on Loy Street include a modern chapel of rest, viewing room, arranging room and a private car park.

As a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors, R Steenson & Son adheres to a strict Code of Practice. This ensures each and every funeral is carried out to the highest professional standards, for your peace of mind. R Steenson & Son is pleased to provide a selection of pre-paid funeral plans, supported by Ecclesiastical Planning Services, for those who wish to plan ahead.

Choosing your funeral plan – important information

You can buy a plan for yourself or on behalf of someone else. The funeral plans offered are designed to cover the funeral director's own costs. As long as they carry out the funeral and the requirements don't change, neither you nor your family will be asked to pay a penny more for these costs, regardless of when the plan is needed or what happens to costs in the meantime.

The plans can also include a contribution towards any third party costs (also known as disbursements), such as burial or cremation costs. Please refer to the Key Features Document and Terms and Conditions for more information.
